Diversity in Construction Ambassadors

ABOUT PAGE

Aditya Ghosh, Architect Company - FXCollaborative

Aditya has experience in the architectural design, documentation, and construction administration of residential high-rise and other large-scale projects. In addition to drawing and detailing, his work, which focuses on exterior façades, includes determining proportions and material specification. He is an architect at FXCollaborative and a founding board member of Build Out Alliance. Growing up, Aditya was always interested in building—whether through physical building blocks or constructing narratives in drawing or storytelling. He decided to pursue architecture as a career early on in order to take India's specialty career exam, which determines college placements. While studying for his Bachelor of Architecture at the School of Planning and Architecture in New Delhi, he became interested in architectural theory and its impact on society, writing his dissertation on Queer Space. After graduation, he worked on research for a future plan of Delhi called Delhi 2050. This, combined with his work on queer theory, led him to pursue a Master of Architecture at Cornell University. With a strong background in theory and the intellectual conceptions that underpin architectural design, Aditya views himself as a storyteller more than a builder and sees his work as being about the interactions a person has with the built environment. For him, spaces are settings—for experiences, intentions, appropriation, and purpose.
