Diversity in Construction Ambassadors

ABOUT PAGE

Martin Scott, Architect - FXCollaborative

Martin is an architect with over ten years of experience on educational, commercial, residential, hospitality, exhibition, and planning projects, with significant experience throughout all phases of work—from conception to construction completion—and on projects of various scales. He possesses a strong appreciation for culture and diversity, understanding both to be integrally tied to the success of effective and equitable architecture. He is also a proponent of working across all scales in the development of all projects, to ensure that the overall concept and the finest of details are all considered equally. As co-chair of FXOne (FXCollaborative’s LGBTQ+ Employee Resource Group) and co-chair of the Professional Programming Committee for Build Out Alliance, Martin has facilitated and hosted numerous events such as seminars focused on designing LGBTQ+ inclusive senior housing and designing against disparities within the LGBTQ elderly community and communities of color. He has facilitated career building workshops for LGBTQ+ students within the AEC industry and volunteered at events for LGBTQ+ families and LQBTQ+ homeless youth. Hailing from rural Tasmania, Martin was raised on a country farm among nature, and considers his roots to be forever tied to that place. While attending design school in Italy as a teenager, he developed his passion for architecture, design, art, and photography. He continues to utilize and develop his skills in hand drawing, putting pencil to paper throughout the entire design process. Martin earned his Bachelor of Design in Architecture and Master of Architecture from Deakin University in Australia and is a registered architect in the United Kingdom.
