A double minority entering a male dominated industry is not new to me. I spent 34 yrs in the Automobile industry, which when I entered had a very similar make up. Having witnessed it first hand I do believe that change is possible. I have experienced a lot of people telling me I am making a mistake by attempting to enter the construction industry, I have also been welcomed with open arms by a few as well. I feel there is space for me and people with a similar make up as myself. I don't believe hard work and determination has a particular look. Either you have it or you don't and I have it. I am looking forward to carving out a space for my self and excelling in this industry.. When it is all said and done my hope is that I leave footprints for someone similar to me to follow and the excel beyond my accomplishments.
