Tiffany Clare is the Director of Corporate Social Responsibility at Benchmark Builders, Inc. She is dedicated to supporting small businesses and furthering Benchmark’s goals of Diversity, Equality and Inclusivity. Tiffany uses her 20+ years of experience to raise awareness in the construction industry and has leveraged her expertise to define and implement internal DEI policies as well as Benchmark’s subcontractor/procurement policies. In September 2006, she was hired to work as an administrative assistant to the management team at Plaza Construction and earned an opportunity to work with the estimating department where she began to build business relationships with many of the subcontractors bidding on Plaza Construction projects. Tiffany realized her true potential to make a positive impact when she attended a M/WBE conference. With her drive to make change at Plaza, she was promoted to the Supplier Diversity Coordinator -responsible for compliance requirements in promoting, monitoring, documenting and reporting diverse spend. Tiffany was able to develop strategies and initiatives to promote and ensure compliance with Minority and Woman-Owned Businesses, Disadvantaged and Small Business participation on contracts awarded by federal, state and city agencies. Now at Benchmark Builders, she has focused her attention on developing strategic programs to develop a diverse subcontractor base, promoting the use of diverse vendors on projects and working closely with her clients to meet their diversity goals. Tiffany enjoys the opportunity to educate clients, employees the community about the importance of diversity, equity and inclusion. Through her compassion and helpfulness, Tiffany has been able to create more business relationships with minority subcontractors than ever before, providing improved opportunity and unprecedented diverse spend.
