Housing Lottery Launches for 584 Gates Avenue in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn

The affordable housing lottery has launched for 584 Gates Avenue, a six-story residential building in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Designed by Gino Longo and developed by Joel Schwartz through 582 Gates USA LLC, the structure yields 28 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are nine units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $135,360 to $189,540.

Amenities include pet-friendly policies, an elevator, a shared laundry room, gym, gated access, and an outdoor terrace. Residences are equipped with air conditioning, energy-efficient appliances, patios or balconies, hardwood floors, intercoms, and name-brand kitchen appliances, countertops, and finishes. Tenants are responsible for electricity, including electric stove, heat and hot water.

At 130 percent of the AMI, there are nine one-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $3,700 for incomes ranging from $135,360 to $189,540.

Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than February 3, 2026.
