Ambar Margarida, LEED AP, WELL AP, is a Principal at Spacesmith whose work focuses on reducing embodied carbon across commercial, institutional, and retail projects. She specializes in adaptive reuse, deconstruction planning, material circularity, and low-carbon sourcing—helping clients invest in existing buildings rather than rebuild. Ambar integrates life-cycle assessments, EPD/HPD evaluation, and design for disassembly into everyday practice, advancing strategies that cut waste and extend material life. As chair of Spacesmith’s sustainability committee, she leads firm-wide decarbonization efforts and contributes to NYC climate initiatives, championing design that elevates human experience while measurably reducing environmental impact.
