Andrew Altamirano is an Associate Principal in Thornton Tomasetti’s New York office, where he leads multidisciplinary teams delivering complex projects in the U.S. and abroad. Since joining the firm in 2012, he has managed the structural analysis, design, and construction of academic and healthcare facilities, commercial high-rise towers, cultural venues, federal facilities, embassies, land ports of entry, and air traffic control towers. His practice emphasizes resilience and sustainable design, including low embodied-carbon structural systems, mass timber, modular construction, and performance-based approaches for critical facilities. Andrew is a licensed professional engineer in New York. He also teaches as a visiting associate professor at Pratt Institute’s School of Architecture.
