Apoorv Goyal leads the sustainability practice in the New York office of HOK Architects. As the Senior Sustainable Design Specialist, he helps the architecture teams to integrate sustainability concepts in the early on in the design process. His expertise in performance analytic studies such as thermal analysis, daylight analysis, life cycle studies help inform core building and engineering decisions. Along with ensuring high performance standards in the proposed designs he works to reduce energy consumption, enhanced daylight and comfort, and reduced embodied energy in the overall life cycle of the construction process. He also helps in facilitation and documentation for LEED for various projects at HOK. As a passionate adopter of new technology, he takes active part in computational research projects both within the firm and outside refine to improve the workflow of sustainable design in the construction industry.
Apoorv is a co-chair of IBPSA - NY, energy modeling sub-committee head for AIA-COTE (NY) and actively engaged in other organizations such as Urban Green Council, AIA etc. Apoorv holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from School of Planning and Architecture, Delhi, India and a Master in Design Studies (Energy and Environment) degree from Harvard Graduate School of Design.
