Asheque Rahman is a Senior Traffic Engineer at the New York City Department of Design and Construction (NYC DDC). He has over 13 years of diverse experience in transportation engineering, planning, supply chain logistics and emerging technology. Asheque is a nationally recognized transportation professional which includes being the recipient of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Young Government Civil Engineer of the Year Award (2013) and the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (IMPORMS) Franz Edelmen Finalist Award (2017).
Asheque currently serves as NYC DDC’s first ever Traffic Engineer and is responsible for building a Traffic Engineering Unit to provide solutions to the Agency’s transportation related matters for the successful delivery of the City’s Capital Construction Projects. Asheque previously worked with New York City Department of Transportation (NYC DOT) and New York City Emergency Management Department (NYCEM) serving in multiple roles to help deliver various important Citywide initiatives; such include NYC DOT’s Traffic Information Management System, Off-Hour Deliveries Program Expansion and NYCEM’s Citywide Asset and Logistics Management System.
