Eileen Quigley is the Sustainability Manager at the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), a global leading environmental advocacy non-profit with 6 major offices. She manages capital improvement projects, oversees tasks related to real estate, sets and manages sustainability strategies and educates others about NRDC’s practices. She ensures that NRDC maintains the lowest environmental footprint possible while prioritizing human health of building occupants and constantly pushing the boundaries of environmentally restorative practices. With her leadership, three of NRDC’s offices have been certified under the Living Building Challenge Petal Certification. The first of the three was the Chicago office in 2013, which was the first commercial interiors project to receive any Living Building Challenge Certification. Just a year later the Beijing office became the first LBC space in China. The San Francisco office is also Petal Certified and 2 more offices are currently registered as active LBC projects. NRDC aims to bolster its organizational mission – by supporting the health and wellness of their staff and reducing their environmental impact – through their offices.
