Elizabeth Suarez, RA
Elizabeth Suarez is the Director of Architecture in the Code & Zoning Interpretation Unit at the New York City Department of Buildings (DOB). Elizabeth leads a team of professional architects in developing complex research regarding Construction Codes, referencing design standards and related laws and rules within the Code & Zoning Interpretation team. Elizabeth has helped lead multiple projects to facilitate communication between technical experts and industry stakeholders. Her extensive experience in private practice brings a unique perspective to DOB and her collaboration with other agencies and elected officials. Throughout her career Elizabeth has worked on multiple large-scale mixed-use residential developments, institutions residences and hospitality projects across the country. Elizabeth holds a bachelor’s degree from Florida International University and a master’s in architecture from the Cornell University.
