Eric Liftin - Mesh Architectures

Eric Liftin

Founder + Principal, Mesh Architectures

Eric Liftin founded MESH Architectures in 1997 as an innovative multi-disciplinary

architectural practice in both the physical and virtual realms. MESH designs buildings, homes, offices, retail spaces, and art installations. The emphasis since 2014 has been on sustainability and mass timber, along with continuing interest in new construction and information technologies. The firm has also designed web sites, with the goal of integrating them with architecture and forging connections between people and their environments in the digital age.

Since 2013 Eric has been developing, as well as designing, multi-family residential buildings in Brooklyn. The first was completed in 2016, and the second, the first mass-timber condominium building in New York, was completed in 2022. Eric is well versed in the economics of real estate and its development, low-energy/high-

performance building (including mechanical systems, envelopes, and lighting), construction administration, and a wide range of information technologies from AI to software development. Projects have been in New York, Seoul, Cambridge, MA, Los Angeles, and New Haven.

Eric has a BA in literature from Yale University and an M.Arch from Columbia University. He is LEED and PHI (passive house) certified.
