Jason Silbiger
Jason Silbiger is a Senior Associate in the Structural Engineering Practice of Thornton Tomasetti’s New York office. He has led various design projects ranging from new commercial high-rise buildings and cultural institutions to US embassies and renovations of archaic building structures. Specializing in New York high-rises such as the Rolex Headquarters and the forthcoming 350 Park supertall office tower, Jason has balanced the structural challenges of iconic architecture with material efficiency and embodied carbon goals. Throughout his career, he’s worked with architects, contractors, and developers to benchmark embodied carbon in early design decisions and to specify structural materials that not only have a smaller carbon footprint, but are high performing for structurally demanding tall buildings.
Jason attended the University of Florida for his Bachelors and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for his Masters of Engineering, specializing in High Performance Structures and the dynamic response of tall buildings with the use of distributed damping.
