Jee Kwon is an Assistant Commissioner and Chief Contracting Diversity & Industry Relations Officer with the NYC Department of Design and Construction, where she oversees the agency’s M/WBE, Industry Partnerships and Workforce Development & Community Hiring units. Prior to joining DDC in January 2024, Jee served as Deputy Director at the Mayor’s Office of M/WBEs and the Mayor’s Office of Contract Services for seven years where she was responsible for oversight, policy development, accountability and reporting of the City’s M/WBE Program, with a focus on strategic planning, procurement process improvement initiatives, and programs to advance equity, diversity and inclusion in city contracting. During this time, Jee developed subject matter expertise in leveraging City procurement dollars to empower minority- and women-owned small businesses and disadvantaged communities with the tools needed for business growth and economic development.
