Jesefa Templo is a Design Manager at The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company, specializing in advanced project delivery methods, such as Design-Build, Construction Manager at Risk and Integrated Project Delivery. Part of a specialized in-house team of architects called the Design Management Group, she utilizes her previous design experience and technical background to bridge the gap between the design and build teams. Acting as the liaison between the left and right brain, subjective and objective, artist and builder—she promotes a more comprehensive, diverse, collaborative and effective design process. The natural evolution of the design and construction partnership has demonstrated the need for deeper integration to achieve truly sustainable, resilient and high-performing facilities for Whiting-Turner’s customers.

Additionally, she is interested in the evolution and cross pollination of technology and lean tools in both the design and construction phases. Utilizing lean practice tools such as the Last Planner System, Target Value Delivery, and A3 for decision-making processes, she aims to produce faster, more efficient, cost-effective outcomes while staying within budget and schedule constraints. She celebrates the Design-Build process by building partnerships based on trust and respect, promoting a collaborative environment where creativity and innovation are taken to the highest level.
