Kateri Knapp
Kateri Knapp is a Senior Consultant with Arup’s Façade Engineering and Building Physics team in New York. She is experienced in the design, engineering, and construction of a wide range of building envelope systems, with a focus on multi-discipline integration. Knapp’s technical background includes system design and detailing, structural and thermal analyses, calibrated daylighting requirements, performance specifications, and the testing and installation of façade systems.
A few of her notable projects include the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s European Paintings Galleries Skylight Replacement and Rockefeller Wing Sloped Glazing Replacement, The Frick Collection Expansion and Renovation, the Tippet Rise Art Center Geode, and the Brooklyn Army Terminal Envelope Restoration.
Knapp is dedicated to sharing expertise and advancing the discipline of façade engineering through active involvement in research, presentations, and teaching. She has served as a visiting professor and lecturer at Pratt Institute, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Cornell University, Parsons School of Design, Columbia University, and Thomas Jefferson University. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture and a Master of Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
