Katie Schwamb is the Managing Director of the Building Energy Exchange (BE- Ex), a nonprofit resource center that accelerates the transition to healthy, comfortable, and energy efficient buildings by serving as a trusted advisor to the building industry. Katie leads BE-Ex’s team on a variety of research, programming, and resource development initiatives on topics such as strategic planning for low-carbon multifamily retrofits, advancing energy efficiency and resiliency in affordable housing, and driving decarbonization of the commercial building sector in New York City. 

Prior to BE-Ex, Katie worked as a Senior Sustainability Consultant at Steven Winter Associates managing multifamily, affordable housing projects pursuing sustainability certifications, financial incentives, and energy code compliance. She is a board member of GreenHomeNYC and holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin.
