Margie Russell is the executive director of the New York Association of Realty Managers (NYARM) and, Administers the NEW YORK ACCREDITED REALTY MANAGER Program, a Real Estate Management Certification. A program to improve and increase the professionalism of Building: owners, managers & supervisors of maintenance personnel.
At Building Service Worker's Union Local 32BJ's training school, Margie spent several years: creating, teaching and spearheading the following topics: Building Budgets & Finance, Project Management, Human Relations & Management Skills, and Ethics .
A real estate management career that began in 1983, Margie was a: Managing Agent, Portfolio Manager, Onsite Manager and, Commercial Leasing Agent. She acquired a wealth of experience involving the coordination of large invasive rehab construction work while tenants were in residence and increased the market value of stagnant buildings through the implementation of innovative: problem solving, project management and staff retraining.
For the past twenty years Margie has independently consulted for real estate management companies providing management and building staff training and, consulted for industry service providers on improving market approach methods including training of sales and marketing staff.
Prior to her real estate career Margie was the Greater NY Sales Training Manager for Safeguard Business Systems, Inc. a financial service bureau and provider of accounting & bookkeeping systems.
At NYARM she delivers a networking and education experience to building management. One main goal is to enhance the NYARM member’s ability to MAKE SOUND DECISIONS by developing good business judgment.
During her career, she has served as either a director or an advisory board member of the following organizations: NY/NJ Chapter of the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA); NY Chamber of Commerce and Industry: Century City Chamber of Commerce; Professional Women in Construction (PWC); NY Chapter of the National Association of Accountants (NAA); The Greenlawn-Centerport Historical Association on Long Island; The Irish Business Organization (IBO) and Children’s Happy Faces, an organization dedicated to fundraising for Ronald McDonald House of NY.
