Ms. Dadarkar is a LEED-accredited professional with over fifteen years of experience in architectural design and historic preservation. As a technical architect educated in sustainability and historic building construction, she has a thorough understanding of building pathology, the interpretation of causes of deterioration to various architectural materials, and the application of appropriate treatments. Her primary project experience involves the investigation, evaluation, and construction administration and monitoring of both historic and contemporary buildings in New York City.
Ms. Dadarkar is particularly interested in the economic aspects of heritage management and the sensitive integration of the â€œold and newâ€ in the urban built environment as demonstrated in her design proposal for the Royal Opera House in Mumbai. Since her graduate thesis on a preservation plan for Mumbai Art Deco apartment buildings, she has nurtured a special interest in preservation advocacy for mid-century Modern architecture.
