Ryan Lean is an Associate Partner at JB&B and leads JB&B Field®, which integrates nine specialized field services into one comprehensive offering. Since 2004, he has established his expertise in commissioning and related services across commercial, mission-critical, educational, laboratory, healthcare, and sustainable building sectors. With a strong foundation in mechanical design, Ryan oversees all JB&B Field® projects, including Commissioning, Balancing, and MEP Advisory Services. Viewing commissioning as a strategic partnership, he is adept at guiding owners and operators through complex transitions. Internally, he spearheaded JB&B University, now in its ninth year, the firm’s burgeoning professional development program. Externally, he has served as past president of the Building Commissioning Association and the Building Commissioning Certification Board, thus shaping industry standards. Ryan holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University at Buffalo and is a licensed Professional Engineer in seven states as well as holding LEED AP and multiple commissioning certifications.
