I was a union journeyman wireman with Local 150 I.B.E.W. for almost 20 years, I then went back to school and achieved my BS in EE. I am working on a project in Omaha, NE right now and joined NAWIC in November last year. When I was in high school they promoted taking a typing class and becoming a secretary, there wasn't much of a push to promote women in STEM or construction. The fact that this mind set has changed so much in what seems like a short amount of time is truly amazing to me. I would love to share my story and promote women in all aspects of construction.
