Samantha Farrugia, Executive Director & Founder - Women Who Weld
Samantha Farrugia created Women Who Weld, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that teaches women how to weld and find employment in the welding industry, in 2014 while pursuing her Master in Urban Planning at the Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning at the University of Michigan. Samantha has trained over 400 women to weld, and was recognized by InStyle as one of the ‘Badass 50 Women Who Are Changing the World’ and was recently featured on The Today Show for her work in creating economic opportunities for women and diversifying a male-dominated industry. Prior to receiving her master’s degree, Samantha oversaw business development for, and the acquisition of, a technology start-up in New York City.
