Who attends

Weather Update: The show will definitely be open from 9.30am today and tomorrow (Wed) as planned despite the snowfall. Please allow enough time to arrive at the Javits Center.

Can I bring my children to the show?

Yes, you're welcome to bring your children with you as long as they are with you at all times. They will require a badge to enter into the show.

Is there a coat check and a place to store my bags?

Yes, there is a coat check by the registration area.

Is this event free to attend? 

Yes.

Can I register for more than one ticket? 

Yes, the more the merrier! Be sure to promote the free tickets to all of your colleagues, clients and anyone else you know working in the built environment. This event is tailored to the whole industry.

Why haven’t I received my badge confirmation email? 

You should have received a confirmation email with a link to download your badge. Please check your spam filters if you haven’t received it. If this still hasn't come through, please speak with a member of the team at the registration desk. They will be able to print your badge for you.

How long is my ticket valid for?

Your free ticket is valid for both days of the show, to all feature areas, conference stages and networking events.

I've forgotten to print my badge, can I still come to the show?

We strongly advise all attendees to print badges at home in order to gain FAST TRACK ENTRY. Simply provide your company name or your name to an attendant at the registration terminal and they will find your registration and print your name badge.

I have not yet registered for the show. I would like to visit the show for just Day 2, is this possible?

Yes, you can register for your free ticket at the show and you can register for the show even if you only plan to come for the afternoon. We have a jam-packed agenda and the exhibition will be running right up until 4.30PM. 

Can I edit my badge details? 

Yes, please email marketing@newyorkbuildexpo.com in advance of the show.

What time do the conferences and workshops start? 

Conference and workshop sessions run from 10:00AM and finish around 5PM on day 1. Conference and workshop sessions run from 10:00AM until around 4.00PM on day 2.

How many learning units will I receive for each workshop session? 

Each workshop session is worth 1 LU or 1 LU|HSW. You will need to scan in before each workshop presentation to receive accreditation for that workshop session.

Are conference sessions accredited by the AIA? 

No, but all of our workshop sessions are AIA accredited. 2 workshops tracks will taking place simultaneously throughout the two days of the expo. You can find out all the details of these workshops in our show preview.

The Workshops are AIA CES Accredited – what does this mean and how does this work? 

AIA has accredited all of our training workshops. All workshops are free to attend. You will be scanned into each workshop session that you attend. We will then issue you with an AIA certificate within 10 business days of the show. Each session equates to a single AIA point which can be added to your portfolio. You must be scanned in at every workshop you attend to receive your accreditation. For the full schedule, please refer to the workshop agenda.

I’m not a registered AIA member, can I still receive credits? 

A certificate of participation for each session that you attend will be sent to you within 10 business days. Some professional associations will accept AIA certification. You will need to contact your professional association to confirm. 

Do I need to reserve a place to attend the conference/workshop sessions?

No, although seating is made available on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Can I get food at the venue? 

Yes, there will be several delicious catering points within the hall, so you do not have to leave the venue for lunch and snacks. 

Is there a charge to attend? 

New York Build is a free-to-attend show. There is no charge to attend any of the features.

Do you have a list of attendees you can send me? 

No. We cannot distribute this list.

Can I have the contact details of attendees? 

No. We cannot distribute contact details.

What is the dress code?

Smart/Business.

Is there an age restriction? 

All children are required to be accompanied by an adult at all times. No under 16's are allowed in the hall during set up of the show or breakdown once the show is finished. Please contact us for further details at marketing@newyorkbuildexpo.com.
